PageManager for managing files, and LaserSoft SilverFast SE 6, a reasonably high-end scan program that offers excellent controls for tweaking image quality and is easy to learn and use. Much better for slides than negatives as expected. This unit looks and feels like it would withstand a lot of abuse.

Plustek OpticFilm 7200
The OpticFilm scans at bit color for extremely accurate and vibrant color images that retain subtle details in the highlight and shadow areas of the scanned image. Scans one slide or photo at a time. On 35mm slides I’d try scanning at only around Scanning slides and negatives is far more problematical than print scanning. This can get tiresome compared with most film scanners, but it’s still easier than positioning slides in a typical flatbed scanner.

Any Condition Any Condition. If the driver does not match your olticfilm number, the unit appears completely dead even if it looks the same as any other Autumn in New England.
To scan your film, simply insert the film holder into the side opticcilm the scanner until it clicks into place; and to advance to the next frame, simply push the holder further through the scanner.
The key is to find the correct driver on the Plustek site that matches the serial number of your unit. Plustek OpticFilmdpi, 35mm, Film Scanner. The scan speed rate is quite fast with a very quick preview scan. The Beauty of Autumn.
The Film holders have the added benefit of protecting the film from the scanner mechanisms because there is no physical contact with the media during scanning process. The slide holder takes up to four slides at once, the film strip holder has enough room for six frames of film.

Much easier and faster than my Nikon coolscan, a x scan for cataloging my film and slides takes about 1 minute per frame.
And finally here is the same part of the image scanned using Vuescan. I believe some other scanners do include additional software that may help with dust problemsbut don’t know how well they work.

Much better for slides than negatives as expected. Prescans took 16 to 20 seconds. I have done hundreds and hundreds of slides by both the semi-auto and manual processes; it just depended how degraded the image 720. We saw a hint of the same issue in lower-resolution scans as well, but we also saw optticfilm crisper focus than in scans from the Canon CanoScan Ffor example, which delivers better-than-average slide scans for a flatbed scanner.
On the one hand, they showed detail better than most scanners’ output.
